Electric Car Motor History. Second Part.
On 1971 the Lunar Rover was driven on the Moon, it was used electrical vehicle, because there is no oxygen to burn gas. Vehicle was developed by Boeing and Delco Electronics. Rover was driven by DC motor in each wheel with non-rechargeable batteries.
It seems that there was no chance to bring back electric car motor. But price of oil extremely increased in 70s and 80s. Consumers wanted to have car with minimal fuel cost fluctuation. Car companies again started to think about electric car motor and created prototypes. And in 1990 General Motor presented the GM Impact electric car concept and promised to sale electric cars widely.
